Press Statement by the High Representative
for the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC)
and United Nations Special Envoy to Combat Islamophobia
on the stabbing incident in Golders Green, London

The High Representative for the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations and the United Nations Special Envoy to Combat Islamophobia, Mr. Miguel Ángel Moratinos, is deeply alarmed by the recent stabbing attack in the Golders Green area of London, in which two members of the Jewish community were seriously injured.
As the United Nations Focal Point on monitoring antisemitism and enhancing a system-wide response, the High Representative strongly condemns this act of violence, which appears to have targeted individuals on the basis of their religious identity. Such acts of hatred and intolerance are utterly rejected and have no place in any society.
The High Representative expresses his solidarity with the victims and their families and conveys his support to the Jewish community in the United Kingdom, particularly at a time of heightened concern following a series of antisemitic incidents in the past few weeks.
The High Representative remains deeply concerned by the rise of antisemitism, as well as other forms of racism, discrimination and hate speech, in different parts of the world. He underscores that violence fueled by prejudice and extremism undermines social cohesion and threatens peaceful coexistence.
