UNAOC’s Media and Information Literacy (MIL) initiatives include, among other projects, a MIL clearinghouse, a MIL teacher training webpage, PLURAL+, PEACEapp, as well as related publications such as PLURAL+ Educational Discussion Guides, MIL UNESCO-UNAOC annual publication, MIL in the MENA region, etc.

The intern will work under the direct, overall supervision of the UNAOC Media and Information Literacy (MIL) Education Project Manager. Specific intern responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

PLURAL +, and PEACEapp

  • Assist with the launching of PLURAL+ 2016, a youth video festival focusing on the themes of migration, diversity and social inclusion
  • Assist with the distribution of PLURAL+ 2015 Program
  • Assist with updates of PLURAL+ website
  • Assist in the distribution of PLURAL+ Educational Guides
  • Communicate with PLURAL + partners and participants

Media and Information Literacy (MIL) Education

  • Support, review and coordinate uploading of new content on MIL Clearinghouse
  • Support communication with related initiatives and partners
  • Assist with MIL relevant conferences and meetings
  • Assist with communication with partners of the UNESCO UNITWIN UNAOC University Network on Media and Information Literacy and Intercultural Dialogue (UAC-MILID)
  • Assist with logistical details of UAC-MILID’s activities (conferences, publications, etc.)
  • Assist with the outreach of PEACEapp, an initiative focusing on apps/games as venues for intercultural dialogue and conflict prevention
  • Communicate with PEACEapp partners and participants
  • Assist with updates of PEACEapp website
