Leading up to the commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide (Genocide Convention), on 8 December 2023 at the UNHQ, the United Nations Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide and the High Representative for the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) are organizing a joint side-event, showcasing stories of religious individuals and communities that have been promoting, protecting, and implementing the Genocide Convention.
Speakers will share their stories and provide insights about how the legacy of the Convention can be enhanced to protect populations from genocide.
