The United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism (UNOCT), along with its partners the UN Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI), the UN Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) and International Centre for Sport Security (ICSS), has the pleasure to share the registration link to the round-table discussion on “Securing of Vulnerable Targets from Terrorist Attacks: Challenges of Major Sporting Event security governance – launch of the UN Guide ” that will take place virtually on 29th June 2021 (13:30 NY time, 17:30 Paris Time 22:30 Bangkok time) on the margins of the 2nd United Nations Counter-Terrorism Week.

This event will debut the UN Global Guide on the Security of Major Sporting Events: Promoting Sustainable Security & Legacies, developed within UN Global Programme on Security of Major Sporting Events, and Promotion of Sport and its Values as a Tool to Prevent Violent Extremism, featuring contributions from Member States, international and regional organizations, sports federations as well as academic and research institutions.
