Ministerial Meeting: Reaffirming Commitment to Youth, Peace and Security Agenda

The UNAOC High Representative will be participating in the Ministerial Meeting on Youth, Peace, and Security, co-chaired by Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Jordan Mr. Ayman Safadi and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Norway Mr. Børge Brende. The meeting aims to sustain the momentum for empowering youth and reaffirm the significant role of young people in sustaining peace and development, as well as in preventing and countering violent extremism. It will stress the need for greater collaboration and stronger commitment by Member States to implement UNSCR 2250 at all levels and to achieve our joint ambitious vision towards generating favorable conditions for the meaningful and inclusive engagement of youth as partners.

The meeting will feature an update on the Progress Study for Youth, Peace and Security. UNAOC is a member of the Steering Committee for the Study and the High Representative will be making a short intervention from the floor during the time designated.
