On the margins of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly, the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) will convene the annual high-level meeting of the UNAOC Group of Friends on Friday, 26 September 2025, from 1:15 to 2:30 PM New York time, at the ECOSOC Chamber of the United Nations headquarters in New York.
The High Representative, Mr. Miguel Ángel Moratinos, will present a brief overview of UNAOC activities in 2025, preceded by a video, marking the 20th anniversary of the formal launch of the Alliance by the United Nations Secretary-General. A general discussion will follow with interventions from the UNAOC Group of Friends, which currently comprises 161 members, including 131 UN Member States, 1 non-member state, and 29 international organizations.
