Ms. Shobhana Bhartia is Vice-Chairperson and Editorial Director of HT Media Ltd., India’s second largest print media company, publisher of India’s second most read English daily, Hindustan Times and India’s third most read Hindi daily, Hindustan. Among her other achievements in the media field, Ms. Bhartia is the Chairperson of the Press Trust of India (PTI), the Deputy Chairperson of the Audit Bureau of Circulation (ABC), and is a member of news societies and universities including the Indian Newspaper Society, the Birla Institute of Technology (BITS), the National Institute of Fashion Design, the National Institute of Design (NID), and the Commonwealth Press Union, London.
Ms. Bhartia has received many awards, including Padma Shri award for Excellence in Journalism, Global Leader of Tomorrow. She was honored by the World Economic Forum at its 1996 Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland, and was the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year in 2005 in the category of Information, Communication and Entertainment.
