Special LC MAG broadcast dedicated to the “News Generation Against Hate” project
Since February 2021, more than thirty youth from La Courneuve, France, aged 15 to 25 years old, have actively participated in the “News Generation Against Hate” project through which they have produced videos and podcasts.
This unique initiative is a joint project of La Courneuve, France, and the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC). It stems from a common will to fight against stereotypes and misinformation in a context where a lack of dialogue and knowledge of the other has weakened the solidarity essential to the foundation of living together.
The young people participated in a series of interactive learning workshops and embarked on the creation of their own media productions, videos, and podcasts on themes related to the fight against racism and inequalities.
Throughout the project, youth participants were accompanied by media and social science professionals: Nora Hamadi, Latifa Oulkhouir, Radia Bakkouch and Claire-Hélène Frileux. During dedicated masterclasses prepared with the youth, they also benefited from the expertise of other specialists such as French journalists and authors Rokhaya Diallo and Harry Roselmack, French boxing champion and author Aya Cissoko, and the founder of the organization Remembeur, Ali Guessoum.
Trente jeunes de La Courneuve, en France, âgés de 15 à 25 ans, produisent des vidéos et des podcasts dans le cadre de leur participation active au projet “Génération nouvelle contre la haine ».
Cette initiative unique est un projet commun de la ville de La Courneuve, France et de l’Alliance des Civilisations des Nations Unies (UNAOC). Elle découle d’une volonté commune de lutter contre la désinformation, la discrimination et les discours de haine dans un contexte où le manque de dialogue et de connaissance de l’autre a affaibli la solidarité indispensable au vivre ensemble.
Tout au long du projet, les jeunes participants sont accompagnés par des professionnelles des médias et des sciences sociales : Nora Hamadi, Latifa Oulkhouir, Radia Bakkouch et Claire-Hélène Frileux. Lors de masterclasses préparées avec les jeunes, ceux-ci bénéficient également de l’expertise d’autres spécialistes tels que les journalistes et auteurs français Rokhaya Diallo et Harry Roselmack, la championne de boxe française et auteure Aya Cissoko, et le fondateur de l’organisation Remembeur, Ali Guessoum.
