PLURAL+ is a Youth Video Festival on migration, diversity and social inclusion. It emphasizes intercultural dialogue, youth expression and the desire for peace and better understanding worldwide. It is a joint initiative of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) and International Organization for Migration (IOM – UN Migration Agency), supported by partner organizations from around the world.
A true encounter between East and West, “The Silk Road Concert” brought together the Symphonic Orchestra of the Balearic Islands directed by Maestro Pablo Mielgo, with eight distinguished artists from Silk Road countries, namely Ms. Bing Bing Wang (Soprano, China , Mr. Burak Bilgili (Bass, Turkey), Ms. Fatma Said (Soprano, Egypt), Ms. Huiling Zhu (Mezzo, China), Mr. ladimir Galouzine (Tenor, Russia ), Mr. Warren Mok (Tenor, China), Ms.Yuan Gao (Soprano, China) and the violinist Ms. Yasmine Azaiez (Tunisia).
Our world is changing and so are the challenges and threats around us. The context of launching the Alliance, though, remains even more relevant than before. The challenge of addressing polarized perceptions, clashing cultures and mutual suspicions has never been more important. Fostering interreligious and intercultural dialogue between different cultures and religions and promoting respect and understanding, all these tasks must be continued.
Here we are again gathering in this magnificent room in what promises to be another unforgettable evening of beautiful music and enchanting performances from talented soprano, tenor , mezzo and bass artists who came from the Silk Road countries: Turkey, Russia, Egypt and China. I would like to thank the governments of these countries for their support to this wonderful concert.

Leadership is needed in our World to strengthen the situation in sports and to put forward some universal principles, including for all the oncoming World Cups and Olympic Games. Sport has helped to advance the ideals of justice and progress. It also can give a universal dimension to athletes of any nationality, religion or social level to cohabit in the most globalized world, in this 21st century. Welcoming Athletes must be a tribute to peace and human progress!
