SUMMARY:12th Summit of the Global Forum on Migration and Development (GFMD)
DESCRIPTION:UNAOC will be participating in the 12th Summit Meeting of the Global Forum on Migration and Development (GFMD) in Quito\, Ecuador\, 20-24 January.  \nGFMD Summit meetings offer the largest multi-stakeholder space for Member States to discuss ways to improve migration policies and develop ideas and concrete partnerships.  \nAs an observer of the GFMD\, UNAOC developed and drafted a background paper for Roundtable 2.2. of the Summit Meeting on the theme\, “Communicating effectively with migrants\,” co-chaired by the Gambia\, the Philippines\, and the United Arab Emirates. This Roundtable is part of GFMD’s Substantive Priority 2: “Migration narratives and communication: What role\, responsibility\, and resources do governments have?”  \nUNAOC will present the background paper at the Summit Meeting. \n\nDownload the background paper: English | French | Spanish  \nDownload (PDF\, 744KB)
