Malasia y Singapur son los principales destinos para los migrantes internacionales en el sudeste asiático. India, por el contrario, lo es para migrantes internacionales en el sur de Asia así como uno de los países más importantes de emigración a nivel mundial junto con China y Bangladesh que se encuentran entre los 10 primeros del mundo. Oriente Medio junto con los países del Consejo de Cooperación del Golfo (CCG) es una de las regiones de destino de migrantes de más rápido crecimiento. Such plans include changes to the household registration system in which migrants will be able to register as urban citizens to enjoy more rights. The government does not provide public funding to migrant associations, and does not have formal mechanisms for consultation. There are records of discrimination based on religion, race and ethnicities, and no official body promotes anti-discrimination. The Kuwaiti National Strategy for the Alliance of Civilizations includes a series of initiatives on Migration and Integration, among which educational and mentoring projects targeting Muslim communities in the West. With these communities, Kuwait promotes good practices of citizenship in order to reduce polarization and extremism while protecting their cultural identities.
