Intercultural cities network
The Intercultural cities pilot developed a model for integration of migrants/minorities based on the analysis of innovative practice of cities across Europe and exploring the notion of diversity advantage (diversity can be a resource, not a threat, if managed properly). The pilot designed, tested and validated a comprehensive methodology and a set of tools to enable local authorities to develop intercultural policies and strategies in partnership with civil society, professionals and public services. These tools include a Policy assessment grid which outlines the main elements of a strategic approach to intercultural integration (10 steps to an intercultural city strategy), puts forward questions and criteria for assessing city policy and governance “through the intercultural lens” and examples from cities across Europe.
