Tear down the walls! is a project that was designed by the Red Cross in Akranes, Iceland with the purpose of developing strategies and tools to implement policies on immigration, with a special focus on mutual integration, relevant in the municipality of Akranes, Iceland. The overall goal of the project was:
- To establish a close cooperation between different actors in the field of migration in order to promote the best possible use of human resources, finance and efforts.
- That all migrants get to enjoy their talents, education and basic rights
- That the diversity and benefits of the multicultural society are fully recognized.
A very important objective was to facilitate cooperation at the local level between agents and institutions and bridge the gap between national and local actors in the field of migration.

This is very important. We need to tear down the walls that separate communities as as well as those that separate families since the immigrant parents and their children are often taking different life tracks. I applaud your efforts build inclusive societies at local and global levels.
