Network for the Integration of Resettled Refugees
The Network for the Integration of Resettled Refugees was launched at the beginning of 2010. Its purpose is to provide adequate reception conditions to refugees resettled in France and to provide answer to their specific needs. They are provided accommodation in transitional flats for six months that can be renewed once for another 6 months. They also benefit from global assistance helping them to become autonomous (guidance on access to rights, training, housing, employment, etc.) The network includes three regions in France – two in the Paris region (Paris and Val de Marne) and one in a rural area (Deux Sèvres). The apartments are rented in either the public or the private sector.
The reception of resettled refugees is ongoing. By the end of the year, the network will be receiving 100 persons – all of them are sent by the French National Immigration and Integration Agency.
The project is co-financed by the European Refugee Fund and the Ministry of Immigration, the three regional social services departments included in the project and by the participation of refugees.
