Eigse Laoghaire Multi-Cultural Arts

Eigse Laoghaire, translates as Artists Sharing, is a platform for expression to the wonderful range of cultures living in the community of Dún Laoghaire . Until 1999, the community of the town of Dún Laoghaire was made up intrinsically of Irish citizens; then with the expansion of the European Union many people came from Eastern Europe to live and work in our community, along with many people from the troubled parts of the World who came seeking refuge to Ireland.
Eigse Laoghaire was determined to make all welcome. All our performances, exhibitions and publications are in aid of local community charities; thus, not only contributing to the cultural life, but to the quality of life of the community.
When all the people seeking asylum were sent away from our community, the Combined Resident’s Association (umbrella committee for all the neighbourhoods in our town) expressed profound regret at the loss to our community of their departure during its Annual General Meeting.
