The Alliance is supporting the launch of a multi-million dollar independent Media Fund aimed at financing mainstream film productions that help promote cross-cultural understanding and combat stereotypes. Private investors have launched a $100 million campaign for the Fund with an initial $10 million commitment announced at the Alliance of Civilizations Forum in Madrid, January 15-16, 2008. The financing of the Media Fund will be further leveraged to expand production and distribution of films through partnerships, also announced at the AoC Forum, with major Hollywood production, distribution, and talent management companies. |
