Meeting in Alexandria, Egypt, senior officials of Mediterranean rim countries committed to a joint strategy to help bridge cultural gaps in the region. Responding to an initiative of President Mubarak of Egypt, members of the UN Alliance of Civilizations Group of Friends finalized a “Regional Strategy for intercultural dialogue and cooperation in the Mediterranean.” This document will now be presented to Ministers at the UNAOC Regional Conference for the Mediterranean (Valetta, Malta, 8-9 November 2010), for their adoption.
