High Representative Sampaio Expresses Condolences to Norwegian PM and Minister of Foreign Affairs

In two separate letters sent to Norway’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs respectively, High Representative Jorge Sampaio expressed condolences for the attacks in Oslo and Utoya on Friday.  He wrote in sympathy and solidarity with the Norwegian people and the government of Norway.  He further stated that his special thoughts are with the families of the young people targeted by the attacks in Utoya, and those that died or were injured by the blast in Central Oslo.

Finally, High Representative Sampaio added that no country, no society, and no group  is immune from the risk of terror and barbaric violence. This is why all societies and peoples need to stand together to fight against extremism and prevent this kind of terror from happening.
